Hair Talk: Kinky Braids

Heya! This is another style of braids that I have invested in and I recommend it to anyone and everyone that’s interested in braids. The extensions are different from the usual X-pression ones because this is much more coarse and ‘natural looking’. One thing that’s great about kinky attachment is that you can reuse it multiple times instead of discarding after one use. I’m a big fan of these extensions and this is my 3rd time using this particular packet.

The length can vary depending on you taste. I decided to make mine short because I did a longer one the last time and I curled the tips since I love curly hair (you can choose to leave the tips straight).

Kinky braids are very convenient for ladies on-the-go because they’re very low maintenance but they look good no matter what. You can even wash your hair with them on and they stay put thus you can carry them for a very long time. I usually carry mine for 2 months (2.5 months max) and they honestly look better with age. Believe me, I’ve gotten lot’s of compliments on this hair.

For maintenance, all you need is a good braid sheen. I usually use this one. When my scalp get’s dirty, I gently massage my scalp with Head and Shoulder’s Anti-Dandruff Shampoo or Selsun Blue (both you can find in you local drugstore) and rinse off. I let it air dry.

Always let your kinky braids dry naturally because excessive heat destroys it.

When I take out my braids, I just swirl it with in a bowl of cool water + shampoo + disinfectant then I rinse it (again with cool water) and I leave it to air dry.

With time and more usage, the kinky extensions tend to thin out but that’s okay because you can always mix it with a new packet! It’s awesome right?!

If you’re a student, I definitely recommend this style to you. It’s chic, low-maintenance and worth every dollar spent.

Oh, and details of my full outfit here.

Always,
Miss LAJA
