So if you’ve been keeping up with me on Instagram, you know Friday the 28th of March was Miss LAJA and Miss LAJA’s birthday. I know, I used Miss LAJA twice. Oh and did I mention it’s also Daddy LAJA’s birthday today?! Just casually slipping that in there. Woop woop! So yes, March is a special month for me. I started Miss LAJA around this time last year and since I don’t remember the exact date, I was like why not celebrate Miss LAJA and Miss LAJA together? Haha, see what I did there?
The next question is who is Miss LAJA? If it isn’t obvious already, I am Miss LAJA; Miss Lisa Ashan-wa Joannah Aliogo. I usually go by Ashan-wa or Lisa (why? that’s a long story for another day).
What does “Miss LAJA” stand for? She stands for strength, confidence and acceptance as not just a young woman but a young African woman. Wow, “woman” makes things sound so serious but I’m 18 now so I have the right to make such a claim. Ha! So yes, you can say Miss LAJA is my not-so-alter ego 🙂
Miss LAJA isn’t trying to claim or portray perfection (because there’s no such thing) but is trying to show that being imperfect shouldn’t hinder you from being the best you could be. Getting to know and falling in love with yourself as an individual despite your flaws is one of the best things you could do for yourself. I hope Miss LAJA inspires you to accept and strive to be the better version of YOU.
As Miss LAJA turns one, I want to thank you for the support and love. I have learnt a lot this past year of blogging about myself and I’ve met really amazing people in the community. I have changed so much these past few years and looking back I would never have imagined I would be where I am today. God is awesome and He’s been really faithful to me, my family and my friends. As I enter this new chapter of this journey they call life I hope you join me in the front seat cause it’s going to be one crazy, fun ride.
Cheers to growth, progress and prosperity. See you next week!
Enjoy this VLog on My Birthday!
Don’t get it twisted,
I will always be,
