I came across these editorials and they’ve been giving me nothing but life. Both exuding different vibes but the one thing they have in common? Ankara. I had to share this with you, because this is life. Life, I tell you. I was struck and very impressed by how high fashion but wearable these pieces were. Those two words don’t often go together. I’ll take them all, thanks.
The edgy shots are by Ed Singleton and safe to say my ovaries bursted upon seeing these photos. This was an editorial titled “Africa Rising” consisting of various brands from the African diaspora. I’ll list the designers, don’t worry I gotchu’. The stylist, Solange Franklin slayed the life out of these outfits. I want every piece. All of them. Absolutely stunning!
The girly shots are piece from the “Cupcake” collection by Ghanaian brand SHE by Bena. Shot by Charlene Asare, I’m crushing so hard on the aesthetics and the creativity that went into this shoot. They make me feel like I should be sipping on some champagne. The master mind behind the set up deserves several kudos. Definitely #LAJAApproved!
I hope you enjoy these photos and they inspire you as much as they did me. They could offer more inspiration on including ankara this Valentine season. Be sure to check out my out compilation for more info. #AfricanPrintsAreVersatile Brethren, if these shots don’t convince you, I don’t know what will. Enjoy!
